Dr. Leah Baynard is a practicing occupational therapist with 13 years of experience. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida A&M University. She continued her education at Eastern Illinois University and received a Master’s degree in Gerontology. She later attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and obtained a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD).
Dr. Baynard’s capstone defense addressed the need to disseminate evidenced-based interventions that focused on fall prevention for community dwelling adults. She has worked in a variety of practice areas including geriatrics, skilled nursing, inpatient rehabilitation, and acute care. Dr. Baynard is currently a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Florida Occupational Therapy Association (FOTA), and Home Modification Occupational Therapy Association (HMOTA). Dr. Baynard’s interests include economical solutions for home modification and fall prevention.
